Start Spreadin' the News...
I'm leaving on Wednesday, actually - not today, as the song goes - for New York City, but I couldn't be more excited. Can you believe, dear readers, that it's only my third time in the Big Apple? Sure, I'm a devoted daily reader of The New York Times and obsessively scour every issue of The New Yorker, but I've only walked up Seventh Avenue once - last September when I was in the city for Fall Fashion Week. So now I'm heading back for the BlogHer Business Conference, but of course I'll have to squeeze in some shopping. And that's where you come in, dear readers.
Ever read the 'Critical Shopper' section (Mike Albo's visit to Jean Shop is quite hilarious) in Thursday's Times' Style Section? It's one of my favorite features: a witty, first-hand account of the reporter's visit to a store in the New York metro area. And, seeing as how imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the DCGF is offering my own take on this feature this Friday...and I want YOU to determine the store I review!
Are you unsure about Uniqlo? Musing on Muji (that's a picture of their Bangkok store, right)? On the fence about Opening Ceremony? Curious about Christian Louboutin? Or perhaps you pine for Prada or long for Luca Luca. No store is too small, too big, too mainstream, too underground, too Upper East Side, or too Downtown for the DCGF.
Tell me in the comments section of this blog what store you want me to review and I'll put it to a reader poll starting tomorrow and running through Thursday night. The place with the most votes gets the DC Goodwill Fashionista treatment! (For better or worse...) And if you come up with a fashionably fabulous place that I've never heard of (ha! right...) in Manhattan, I might just go there anyway.
So let me do the walking and the shopping for you this week in the city that never sleeps. It's up to you, New York, New York!
